USS Krakatoa (NCC-5350)

My latest Star Trek ship commission is done. 😃 I give you the USS Krakatoa, NCC-5350 - lead ship of the Krakatoa Class, a variant of the Abbe Class PT Destroyer, as found in the Jackhill's Star Fleet Reference Manual Volume 1.
She's designed as a Fleet Tender, not Destroyer, with her Mission Pod and launch abilities tuned to the deployment and retrieval of charting probes, astrometric sensors, subspace repeaters and relays. The space devoted in the Abbe Class to torpedo storage is instead given over to a substantial quad-hinged-door mobile drydock capable of enclosing an entire subspace relay for construction, repair, or refit. She's a workhorse of the fleet, with long deployment times in quite rural parts of the Federation and its frontier.
I'm really happy with how this turned out - I am especially proud of the tropical-themed Arboretum. It took a while for this design to grow on me, as I'm not a fan of the old TMP Star Trek designs, generally. They always felt far too "kitbashed" for my liking. I feel like we were able to make this one feel far more bespoke.
Thanks to Matthew Wilkinson for the commission and design!
Here are some 8K resolution shots of this beast, as well as WIP images of her construction.
